Welcome to North Thoresby Primary Academy...

North Thoresby Primary Academy is an exceptional village primary academy with superb facilities offering a real family based traditional education. The academy situated in North Thoresby, which is on the A16 between Louth and Grimsby. It provides a glorious outside environment for the children to learn, play and relax and stands in its own secure grounds.

We are sure that what we offer is rather special so if you have been specifically looking for us or found us by chance please stay a while and browse the pages which we think will be of general interest.

Our academy is a small rural primary academy which caters for girls and boys aged four to eleven. It has a warm and friendly atmosphere and forms a vital part of village life. There are 76 pupils on roll. The academy mainly serves the villages of North Thoresby, Grainsby and Waithe but children from the villages of Brigsley, Fulstow, Holton-le-Clay, Ludborough and Louth also attend.

There has been a school in North Thoresby for nearly 200 years. One of the earliest records of schools in the village is that of 1818 which records the Mapletoft Charity School in Church Lane. In 1856 the Wesleyan Methodists built a day school next to the chapel. Later, in the 1880’s the day school became a board school, and, finally a local education authority school. Primary education continued in this building until 1985 when the present building was opened.

Head Teacher's Welcome

North Thoresby Primary Academy is a small village school,  where you will find a warm friendly welcome from our children, staff and governors.  We pride ourselves in being a very hardworking yet caring academy.  Knowing each and everyone of our children and their families gives everyone a strong sense of community.

All our staff play an important role in teaching our children that we have high expectations of them and that they need to believe in their ability to achieve. We endeavour to ensure that the children have a safe secure happy environment in which to learn and reach their full potential.

Feeling that we have something special to offer we welcome everyone to come and see what we have to offer for themselves.
